Community Update

Thank you to all who participated in the September 17th beach cleanup but there are a few individuals in our community who deserve special recognition. Cathy Ives, Kerry Farrar and Sarah Mattison are names known to most of you as individuals who contribute to our community on an ongoing basis but they really went above and beyond last week. The three of them set-up for the cleanup, logged in 144+ participants, weighed the trash collected, logged the detailed results of the cleanup (more on that in a minute) filled out Community Service forms for the many young adults who participated and then took down the canopies and tables. The three of them were in perpetual motion!

Special, Special mention goes to Mission Beaches own Aili Farrar who is a 6th grader at PB Middle School. Aili recruited a group of classmates who together took on the dirtiest job of all, sorting through the trash collected. They cataloged everything brought in (counting cigarette butts and all YUK. ) Thank you PB Middle!

Speaking of service to our community...
