Lucky Duck Foundation - Thank you to Drew Moser the Executive Director of the Lucky Duck Foundation who gave a very informative presentation on the homeless crisis to our members at the last general meeting. To find out more about the foundation please go here https://www.luckyduckfoundation.org/
Large Item Garbage Collection - The city Environmental Services Department will hold a large item pick up on Saturday March 25th. Watch for a flyer from the city in advance of the pick up date.
Vehicle Habitation Issues - The San Diego Police Department has not been allowed to enforce the Vehicle Habitation Ordinance at the direction of the Mayor's and City Attorney's office. As most of you know that has resulted in large numbers of so called "van lifers" populating areas such as Mission Point Park (south side of the jetty), Santa Clara Pl. and El Carmel Pl. With the opening of new city sponsored "Safe Parking Lots" some relief may be in sight.
Word has it that as of April 1st the city will begin requiring the "van lifers" to move out of areas such as Mission Point Park (south side of the jetty), Santa Clara Pl. and El Carmel Pl. into city sponsored "Safe Parking Lots". Please continue to file Get It Done reports about vehicle habitation in these and other areas and then forward the Get It Done Report numbers to the Mayor and City Attorney's office asking them to return our parks to the public's use. Remember the squeaky wheel gets the grease!
